Find the Right Motorcycle

There are many different kinds of motorcycles. In fact, there are essentially as many kinds of motorcycles as there are kinds of people. While it may seem daunting to begin your search through so many options, it also means you should be able to find something that fits your needs. Take a look at this guide to help you narrow it down:

  • Cruiser: The most basic kind of bike is most likely a cruiser. If you want city mobility, style, and performance, then a cruiser might be just right for you. Generally these are lightweight bikes that don’t tack on much more than what you need to get around. Comfort and convenience are the priority, and usually the price won’t break the bank. Examples include the Harley-Davidson Street® and Sportster® lineups.

  • Bobber: A Bobber is a bit more about style than a cruiser. These bikes have everything unnecessary removed to emphasize a kind of custom, stripped down look. Take a look at the Harley-Davidson Street Bob® if this kind of bike tickles your fancy.

  • Chopper: Choppers usually have a long, raked out fork, big wheels, and plenty of customized parts and accessories. While these used to be one-off garage built machines, these days, you can get one straight from the factory. Take a look at the Harley-Davidson Low Rider® if this sounds like your cup of tea.

  • Bagger: Ready to hit the road for the weekend, but not for the month? A bagger is effectively a light duty touring bike. Oftentimes these bikes have removable bags and windscreens so they can quickly and easily switch between touring duty and cruising around town. A Harley-Davidson Street Glide® is a good example of this style of bike.

  • Touring Bikes: If you’re headed across the country, make sure you’ve got the right bike for the job. A fully featured touring bike will provide things like locking panniers, a front fairing, and even infotainment systems. Consider the Harley-Davidson Touring lineup, and especially bikes like the Electra Glide® Ultra Classic®.
